Certified Property Manager

Mostly decorative

Who issues it

Institute of Real Estate Management, affiliated with the National Association of Realtors

What it teaches

Managing income property.

What an agent has to do to get it

Course work, verified management experience, an exam, and dues.

What it actually tells you

A real credential for a different job. If you are selling a tenant occupied home it is relevant. If your house is empty it is not.

Ask this instead

My tenant is still in the house. How do we sell without wrecking the showings or the tenant's rights?

Where I stand on it

I do not hold these letters. I studied the material behind a lot of them, because the subjects are real and a seller pays for what I do not know. I never bought the initials. If a credential is ever shown to get sellers more money, I will earn it that day and put it on this page myself.
