Private program
CHMS
Certified Home Marketing Specialist
Mostly decorativeWho issues it
A private staging and marketing training company
What it teaches
Staging and preparing a home for market.
What an agent has to do to get it
A course and a fee.
What it actually tells you
The topic is one of the highest return things you can do before listing. The certificate is not what gets your house ready. A written prep plan with a budget does.
Ask this instead
Walk my house right now and give me the prep list with what each item costs and what it returns.
Where I stand on it
I do not hold these letters. I studied the material behind a lot of them, because the subjects are real and a seller pays for what I do not know. I never bought the initials. If a credential is ever shown to get sellers more money, I will earn it that day and put it on this page myself.
Keep going
